Tide.lamp can now follow the tide at more than 6,000 coastal locations around the world.

From a favourite Cornish beach to a coastline on the other side of the globe, customers can choose the place that means the most to them.

Global tidal locations are available to every Tide.lamp customer at no additional cost, with no subscription required.

Tide.lamp is now publicly available to buy and in stock.

Tide.lamp crowd funded and pre-orders have now shipped and we are about to enter an exciting new phase of public availability.

We now enter full production.

The Tidelight app is launched and available on iOS and Android stores. This is a subscription and ad-free app which can be used by anyone, even without a Tidelight product.

It's also the companion app which is used to configure your light.

Our local partners begin crafting, wood turning and producing the parts required for our first production run of Tide.lamp with a delivery goal of late November / early December.

We funded our first manufacturing run in just 4 weeks thanks to overwhelming support of our crowd funding campaig which raised 153% of our target goal. Tide.lamp was truly on the map.

The result was a beautifully crafted piece that met Alex's high standards for quality interior design and sustainability. After extensive testing of Tide.lamp and its supporting app, it was ready for CE and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) certification.

It was a major undertaking, but in 2024, with support from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Cornwall Council, Alex assembled a team of experts, including electronics and industrial designers, wood turners, and PCB manufacturers in the South West of England to develop a marketable prototype.

Tide.lamp by Tidelight began as a personal project in 2017, created by founder Alex Tweed in Cornwall where he enjoys the coast with his family. After seeing how much visiting friends loved it, he refined the design to share it with others.
